Science 6th

QZGA Course Description:  

This yearlong course focuses on the concepts and principles of earth, life and physical sciences will be studied in accordance with the California State Science Content Standards. 6th graders focus on units such as Populations and Ecosystems, Weather and Water, Motion and Forces. At all grade levels, there is an emphasis on the process of science as student develop their skills in critical thinking, research and investigation. Students will maintain science notebook as we us the Full Option Science System (FOSS) developed at the Lawrence Hall of Science.

Science 7th

QZGB Course Description:

This yearlong course focuses on the concepts and principles of earth, life and physical sciences will be studied in accordance with California State Science Content Standards. 7th graders tackle units on the Diversity of Life, Chemical Interactions, and Earth History. There is an emphasis on the process of science as students develop their skills in critical thinking, research and investigation. Students will maintain science notebooks as we use the Full Option Science System (FOSS) developed at the Lawrence Hall of Science. 

Science 8th

QZGC Course Description: 

This yearlong course focuses on the concepts and principles of earth, life and physical sciences will be studied in accordance with the California State Science Content Standards. 8th grader move into units on Planetary Science, Human Body Systems, Heredity, Momentum, Acceleration and Waves. There is an emphasis on the process of science as students develop their skills in critical thinking, research and investigation. Students will maintain science notebooks as we use the Full Option Science System (FOSS) developed at the Lawrence Hall of Science.
